CommentLuv Wedding Photography Blog
Reading around on forums and related blog sites i came across a website / blog that had a plugin called CommentLuv installed on it. Naturally i browsed further into it trying to find out what the big deal is! My research basically tells me that when you have a CommentLuv plugin installed on your wordpress site it creates more exposure via inbound links.
In other words, CommentLuv grabs the last post of your RSS feed and displays it on the blog site you are commenting on. So, when you are doing your SEO and utilising blog commenting to get one backlinks, this plugin will create another RSS link to your comment once approved.
I thought i will give it a go on our wedding photography blog to see if we can drive extra traffic and increase our exposure in the blogging community.
As far as i know and understand, gaining a backlink to improve your SEO rankings is based on a dofollow enabled blog. This worried me a bit so i went to the Google Forums to see what the experts had to say about this.

In retrospect we will leave our blog as nofollow and have the commentluv plugin enabled to see what happens in the next few months. If we see extra traffic coming to our site and is related then we will leave the plugin in place.

Thanks Timothy for the reply. Ive been on the forums and i feel keeping it nofollow is the best way to go for our rankings.
I also installed Comment Luv plugin on my photography blog, looks like a nice reward for my visitors!
I’ve just installed the CommentLuv plugin on Monday. Will test it for 3 months to see if there’s any drastic change in traffic and number of comments.
One way I combat the issue of dodgy links is by moderating comments and selectively applying dofollow to links that I don’t look dodgy.
I use a plugin called “Nofollow Case by Case” which allows me to add or remove the nofollow tag from comments that look unrelated or dodgy.
I also keep all comments as nofollow until the commentor has left at least 10 quality comments on various posts. That way I avoid passing on page rank to drive-by commentors who are just leaving comments for link building purposes.

I have also installed Comment Lu plug’s on Tuesday. Will test it for 2months to see change in traffic.
Just stumbled across this post when trying to find more information about Commentluv. I’ve recently installed it myself and I must admit, I’m a little sceptical as so far it seems to only have increased pointless and spam comments. Now that you’ve had it for a few months, how are you finding it?

My opinion is that all commentluv blogs should also be DOfollow. PR is not the most impotent factor in SEO anymore but do follow anchor text is a big deal. Yes you will get loads of spam but what goes around comes around and if we all share the luv and allow for a natural flow of link juice then we cant go wrong.
