When shooting outdoor weddings, controlling the shutter speed is generally quite easy as there is adequate light available. Working indoors is different as the light is much less and can be compensated using flash photography.
You would of heard that its good luck to get married on a rainy day, but try telling that to the photographer and the bride-groom to wed. Luckily for everyone concerned that the Sydney climate is quite stable and rain is very limited to short spurts rather that torrential rain day in day out.

If you desire professional photos then you will be looking at a SLR in the Nikon, Canon, Minolta range that will produce excellent photo quality. You may opt to buy both the SLR and the compact for all occasions.
When buying an SLR or compact digital camera a specification guide will be included for your reference. Take your time to read through the manual carefully and understand the different functions that are available. Practice at the same time varying different functions as you go though the guide. You will be surprised as reading the guide will help you become a better photographer.

When you’re thinking of taking pictures in the dark, make sure you use good camera flash units to light up the area. Your picture will appear better and sharper with a focused light shining on the subject matter. Many of these flash units are used by professional photographers who want to ensure that their photographs come out bright and sharp. The unit can also be timed to go off at a specific moment by using the timer on the camera.
